Announcing the 2nd concert in our “Hear the song in the music” series, “Songful harmonies: the song-inspired music of Schubert, Liszt and Bartok” on Tuesday 6th November, this time with 2 pianists sharing the solo pieces between them and focusing on piano works inspired by choral masterpieces, folk songs, a “forgotten song”, Italian songs based on the beautiful sonnets of Petrarch, and Schubert’s (and Goethe’s) Wanderer once more. In fact, 2 of the works are homages to a homage … so come and discover for yourself!
We are delighted to be able to present this in Trinity College Chapel in Cambridge, England, to welcome pianist Balazs Szokolay’s debut with us and at the venue, and to mark Sylvia Chan’s return to perform at this venue more than 15 years after she last gave a recital there, and to play some Liszt again.
