It’s midsummer – let’s talk about the wonders of 8-voice ensemble singing!

We are really looking forward to debuting our group at our debut concert on 31st August!

It’s been fun seeing this ensemble come together with the vision of choral music-making in chamber settings and working on music that is about voices in harmony and blending with each other in service of the whole.  Being able to pick apart some of these pieces written by the masters of choral music – Mozart, Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Brahms, and so on – has given us much joy and an extra spring in our steps when we attend to our day jobs on Mondays.

Our major thoughts have been this: It is wonderful to be brought together by beautiful music.  It is even more wonderful that we can share these harmonies with audience as well as with each other.

On 31st August, we will also be delivering the Hong Kong first performance of a beautiful piece called “Only in Sleep”. The piece is written by Ēriks Ešenvalds, a Latvian contemporary composer, who wrote the piece based on the American poet Sara Teasdale’s words about childhood friends.
